adidas Originals is celebrating the 110th anniversary of Manchester United’s first FA Cup victory with a triple-black special edition UltraBOOST. The 1909 win was the first of many for the English football powerhouse, racking up 20 League titles, 12 FA Cups, 5 League Cups, and many other accolades since then.
The “Manchester Rose” UltraBOOST features a black primeknit upper with matching black leather overlays and black Boost midsole. The words “110 Years,” “Manchester Rose,” and “1909_2019” are inscribed on the leather lace cage.
During the 1909 match against Bristol City, Manchester United wore a white shirt with a red ‘V’ on the front and the Lancashire rose on the left chest. adidas has drawn inspiration from this kit and has placed the Lancashire rose on the UltraBOOST’s leather tongue. adidas will also be releasing a matching Manchester Rose tee.
