The Air Jordan 1 was not a sure fire, knock it out the park design on it’s first try. Nike was intent on getting a young Michael Jordans shoe line off on the right foot (duh). With highs, lows, KO versions, and several different variations, the AJ1 went through a series of modifications before we got the finish product. Here we get a look at an Air Jordan 1 prototype that featured a polyurethane midsole that would later be featured on the Air Jordan 2 (which also went through the gamut of prototypes), but the rest of the shoe appears to be pretty close to the original save for some slightly different shapes throughout. If there was a retro version of this prototype, would you be in on them?
