2012 saw an influx of Air Jordan 9’s hitting the market with the Kilroy Pack stealing a lot of second half shine and the “Pollito” selected as the Doernbecher release (as well as classics like “Olives” and white/black versions). The shoe was apparently set to have one more example join the fray — a “Mesa Orange” mock that black suede coupled with a grip-tape-esque grey strip along with the aforementioned orange hue used for touch-ups. What looked like a promising release never came to fruition and one can only wonder if the heavy dose of the style making it to shelves played a role in that. Nonetheless, samples have begun to surface and those interested in completing their 2012 IX’s Can Buy Them Now
