Asics will be releasing a trio of sneakers inspired by 90s prep fashion trends dubbed the “Academic Scholar” Pack. The pack includes the GEL-KAYANO 26 running shoe, the GEL-NIMBUS 21 running shoe and the GEL-KAYANO 5 OG sneaker. Each of the three offerings come dressed in a sophisticated colors typically found in preppy Ivy League garments: burgundy, navy, birch, and pine green.
The GEL-KAYANO 26 and GEL-KAYANO 5 OG come with premium pigskin nubuck, suede and perforated leather paneling throughout the upper. The midsole in these models are equipped with Asics’ DUOMAX and GEL technology for enhanced stability and cushioning. The GEL-NIMBUS 21’s engineered mesh upper sits on top of a midsole which boasts FLYTEFOAM Propel technology and GEL cushioning.
