Swizz Beats Gives Hint on Possible Reebok Shaq Return
Some might call 2012 the “Retro” era as companies like Nike, Ewing athletics and several others, are starting to bring back their older silhouettes. One shoe company that’s been breaking news continuously, is Reebok who recently announced the return of the Reebok Question and the Shaqnosis. Now they’ve added more possible releases into the mix, when Swizz Beats tweeted a photo of the Reebok Shaq with “Stay tuned” as the caption. Reebok ‘Shaqnosis’ 2012
The ‘Shaqnosis’ was Shaquille o Neal’s signature shoe in the 90′s, and became one of the most recognizable silhouettes that shaped Reebok Basketball 20 years ago. With the ‘Retro’ Era in full effect, Reebok’s brought back the classic sneaker but this time, it features a Hexalite design that gives this 20 year old model a modern look. These will undoubtedly have Shaq fans go crazy and with Reebok opening the vault with their oldest models, you can expect more classics like this in the coming months. Via Defy
Reebok Question – White / Pearlized Red – New Photos
Last week, breaking news was announced on behalf of Reebok about the return of the Question model and with a release date already in effect, fans have started anticipating this big release. However, some might recall a different toe box on the original version, as this ‘Retro’ model features a pearlized leather material on the toe. Regardless of this minor change, these will be one of Reebok’s biggest releases yet. You’ll be able to cop these at retailers like Mr Rsports on May 25th.
Reebok Question – White – Red – Release Date
During the 90′s, Basketball Shoe endorsement’s were at an all time high and with companies like Nike and adidas making it hard for competitors, a young Allen Iverson fresh out of Georgetown held the torch for Reebok. One of the models you might’ve owned as a kid made famous by the former 76er, was the Reebok Question – a shoe that featured a honeycomb midsole and the signature Reebok logo on the side panel. Swizz Beatz x Reebok 2012
Swizz Beats announced his partnership with Reebok last year which was probably the best move for the Footwear company after it became a subsidiary of the German sportswear company Adidas in 2005. We’ve seen Reebok collaborate with artists such as Jay Z and 50 Cent, but since they’ve gotten together with Super Producer Swizzy, things have gotten better for the Reebok Brand. Here’s a look at an upcoming sample that Swizzy uploaded on his twitter account during a meeting at the Reebok HQ. Reebok CL Kamikaze III MID ‘Mariners’
Swizz Beats made headlines last year when he announced that he would be Reebok’s creative director for RBK classics and since his new position, the Reebok line has hit a wide audience especially with the Kamikaze model. This month, Swizzy creates another colorway that displays a Seattle Mariner-esque colorway. This two tone Kamikaze III Mid features Teal, Black with White and has recently released in the Philippines.
