Fat Tiger Workshop x adidas Originals Collection

We’re a month away from NBA All-Star Weekend, one of the best sneaker release weekends of the year. With the festivities taking place in Chicago this year, the city of Michael Jordan and the 90’s Bulls, the city of Derrick Rose, you already know the drops are going to be monumental.

We’ve seen some of what’s in the store already. Tributes to Chicago by Nike, Don C, and Jordan Brand are starting to fill up the release calendar. adidas Originals too will be taking part in the festivities and they’re teaming up with the most Chicago institution of Chicago institutions, Fat Tiger Workshop. Vic Lloyd, Rello, and Des Money, three co-founders of FTW, have all shared sneak peaks at upcoming adidas collabs.

Vic Lloyd dedicates his kicks to his first loves, music and basketball. A close up shot at the tongue tags shows two logos, each featuring a milk crate. The orange and blue “Chicago Works Harder” pair takes it back to the days of playing back alley basketball, using a milk crate as a hoop. The grey and purple “Chicago Plays Harder” pair showcases another use for milk crates, a way for DJs to carry vinyls to and from gigs.

Des Money shows Chicago girls love with a sneaker rendition of his popular red “Chicago Girls Do It Better” tees. Another teaser image gives us a look at an olive green adidas Forum with WAWG “We All We Got” branding on the heel.

Rello gives us a look at tonal pink and tonal beige colorways of his upcoming adidas collab. A hand scribed “Three Stripes” message is embossed on the side panel, while Rello’s “Lost Paradise” floral artwork decorates the insoles.

The fourth FTW co-founder, Joe Freshgoods, is absent from this collection, as he is now team New Balance, but he’ll also be releasing a sneaker come February, the DBM 992.

Every sneaker pictured above is expected to release when the Tigers return in February. As always, keep it locked for additional info.

Update (02/05/20): Rello has provided a full look at his Unisex Adidas “We Are All Superstars” release. It will come in sizes 4-15 with a standard pack priced at $100 USD and a deluxe pack priced at $130 USD. Releasing Satuday noon CST at Fat Tiger Workshop and online.
