J Cole and Puma have partnered together to release a short film title “The DREAMER”. The film co-directed and conceptualized by Cole follows a young kid’s journey through basketball, modeled after J. Cole’s own love for the sport and the rapper’s rise to stardom. The film includes clips of young Cole playing basketball and a clip of his infamous missed dunk at the 2019 NBA All Star Game. The film ends with Cole dunking a ball alone on a dimly lit court.
This collaboration solidifies Cole and Puma’s partnership. “He is going to be a key player in many of the things we do at PUMA moving forward and we’re excited to work with him not only on a product level but even more importantly as one of our athletes. Cole sits at the intersection of music and sport and represents everything that PUMA stands for as a brand.” says Adam Petrick, the Global Director of Brand and Marketing at Puma. Expect more collaborations from this partnership moving forward.
