KITH’s Finest Offerings

Kith x Collette x Puma Blades Of Glory (2016)

When Ronnie Fieg founded Kith 9 years ago streetwear as we know it was in its infancy. The New York native nurtured his passion from concepts into a comity. Ronnie’s name carriers a level of credible clout that acts as a testament of his grind and expertise. We expect any project bearing the Fieg’s name to kill it, and you’ll be hard pressed to find any executional flaws in one of his collaborations.

Here’s the mathematical breakdown:            Ronnie Fieg + brand = quality

Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 998 “City That Never Sleeps” (2015)

His signature clothing brand (and stores), KITH, couldn’t be more in-tune with what streetwear connoisseurs desire: quality, mystique, unique experiences and… well, comfort! The KITH website says it best:

KITH operates on two planes – a multifunctional lifestyle brand for both men and women, and a progressive retail establishment.

In a relatively short period of time KITH established itself as a pillar of high class streetwear.

The band’s recent collaboration with Converse on the All-Star Hi was so well executed that they got us thinking about KITH (and Ronnie’s) previous home runs. Lets take a stroll down memory lane and highlight some of our favorite KITH/Ronnie collabs…

Kith x Converse All-Star Hi (2019)

Ronnie Fieg x Puma R698 “Sakura Collection”

Ronnie Fieg x Puma R698 “Sakura Collection” (2015)

Microperforated pigskin suede and nubuck uppers…need we say more?

First impressions last forever and the moment your eyes make contact with these Puma R698 you know they’re ultra premium. Ronnie drew inspiration from the Japanese Cherry Blossom tree’s soft and vibrant hues of pink & red for as seen on the shoe’s toebox. We’re really feelin’ all the oversaturated goodness happening on the front of the shoe. The “Sakuras” straight up slap (or punch if you’re familiar with “Naruto’s” Sakura)!

KITH x High Snobiety x Puma Blaze Of Glory “A Tale Of Two Cities”

KITH x High Snobiety x Puma Blaze Of Glory “A Tale Of Two Cities” (2015)

It doesn’t matter how many times we a ‘BRED’ motif in footwear because consumers always say ‘yes’ to some good ol’ fashion black & red. We’re talking about KITH though – ‘BRED’ needed to be more… elevated and refined. Enter quilted leather panels, gold aglets + branding and a speckled midsole. Like many of KITH’s collabs High Snobiety joined the mix, forming a trifecta of streetwear/footwear heavyweights. Straight up fire, straight up buttery.

Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel Lyte III “Salmon Toe”

Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel Lyte III “Salmon Toe” (2011)

Goin’ dummy on some salmon like a grizzly bear! We’d argue the “Salmon Toes” put Ronnie on the hype-map. Back in 2011 a total of 72 pairs were released: 40 individually numbered, collector, box sets and 32 boxless pairs. Collector sets came with all-wooden boxes by Good Wood NYC, a T-shirt and wooden dog tags. If ‘organic hype’ was a thing (found at a Whole Foods near you) then Ronnie’s “Salmon Toe” Gel Lyte IIIs would be the definition of organic hype. Hype built out of love, genuine interest, thoughtfulness and community – these suckers were poppin’ off on Sneaker Freaker Magazine covers before the hyper-exclusive release – all without a Nike or adidas cosign. Ronnie’s relationship with ASICS runs deep – they were the first brand to approach Ronnie as a collaborator.

KITH x Nike LeBron 15 “Floral”

KITH x Nike LeBron 15 Collection (2018)

It’s called opulence, honey, look it up.

Nike’s LeBron 15 collab with Kith felt like a genuine partnership between LeBron and Ronnie on a personal level; they’re actually down with each other IRL. The collection consisted of like 6 variants of the LBJ15 with some super-duper exclusive floral print pairs, zippered pairs and large, multi-loop, straps. KITH’s zipper use was juuuust wild enough, and the move really adds a lux aesthetic touch. Hella wild and hella luxurious. KITH x Nike branded packaging came with a power level over 9,000 too.

KITH x adidas UltraBOOST Mid “Aspen”

KITH x adidas UltraBOOST Mid “Aspen” (2016)

Lastly, but certainly not least (though our picks weren’t in any particular order) are the “Aspen” KITH x adidas UltraBOOSTs. KITH’s team absolutely murdered these jizoints with the end result being one of the greatest UBs, period. Not many people messed with general release UltraBOOST Mids, but KITH took the cage-less design ‘n’ got busy on some Colorado inspired Primeknit prints. The white tooling coupled with all that stupendous upper color resulted in this super exclusive collab earning every bit of its hype. Looking back – drops like these are the pinnacle of designer/artist/influencer collaborations. Put some respek on the Fieg name, tricks.
