Anyone who grew up in the early 90’s remembers the classic NBA JAM video game; the only game where you were able to make the ball catch flames and break backboards in 93. Around that time, The Chicago Bulls won their 3Peat and became the lead team in the NBA Central Division. However in NBA JAM, they were below average when up against the Pistons according to Mark Turmell, who said that the video game was rigged against the Bulls.
“If there was a close game and anyone on the Bulls took a last second shot, we wrote special code in the game so that they would average out to be bricks. There was the big competition back in the day between the Pistons and the Bulls, and since I was always a big Pistons fan, that was my opportunity to level the playing field.”
Like the Pistons “Bad Boy” Era, it seems like NBA Jam’s lead designer had his own dirty agenda against the bulls and revealed that there was a “Special hack written to lower Pippen’s ratings” whenever the team faced Detroit.
As Chicago Fans, this pisses us off but thankfully, we’ve taken 6 Rings home and had one of the greatest ball players in history play for our home team.
