Nike Honors Dominican Community with “De Lo Mío” Air Max 95s

0

Original Story (02/27/20): Following the 2018 release of the Air Force 1 “De Lo Mío,” Nike announces that the series will continue in 2020, this time tackling the Air Max 95 silhouette.

What inspired the Nike team for this series was the large concentration of Dominican Republic natives in New York City’s Uptown neighborhood. To honor these people and the community, Nike designed the Air Force 1 Low “De Lo Mío,” a term of endearment that represents fellowship within the Dominican community.

The Air Max 95 features a white leather upper with iridescent piping and hits of 3M neon green stripes at the eyelets. Like the Air Force 1 Low, at the heel of the left shoe is the Nike Air logo and above says “República” in red text and on the right says “Dominicana.”

The Nike Air Max 95 “De Lo Mío” released today via exclusive access on the SNKRS app. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for news on a wider release.

Update (02/24/21): A wider release of the Nike Air Max 95 “De Lo Mío” in 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19. However, the shoe will now be returning in 2021 on February 27th, Dominican Independence Day, a year after its Exclusive Access release. Catch the release on SNKRS for a retail price of $180 USD.
