While NFL officials recently expressed that the NFL has “moved on” from Colin Kaepernick, the unofficial “It” boy for controversy never fails to remain in the media’s peripheral vision. This time, it’s for the debut of his latest example of Nike-level support as he presents his upcoming Nike Air Force 1.

The special edition comes equipped with a black and white color palette and a gradient reflective Swoosh. A hangtag is embellished with Kaep’s number 7 along with other personal touches: a silhouette of his face on the upper heel, a patterned sock liner, a new tongue branded with a “K,” and an icy translucent outsole featuring the date of his first kneeling protest, “08/14/16.”

Though it may seem like the sports world is still embarrassed about being grouped in the media with political activism, Kaepernick’s Air Force 1 Low debut shows that the fans still have an appetite for what he has to offer.

The Colin Kaepernick x Nike Air Force 1 Low launches in North America at select retailers and nike.com on December 23rd with a retail price of $110 USD. It comes in adult, kid, and toddler sizing. A global release will follow.

Update (12/21/19): Nike has officially announced the release of the Colin Kaepernick x Nike Air Force 1. Check out the official images below.
