After releasing Kobe Bryant’s signature basketball shoe in low-top form for years, Nike Basketball brought it back the high-top silhouette with its latest release of the Kobe 9. The Kobe 9 was the first basketball shoe to utilize Nike’s Flyknit technology and the performance aspects of the shoe were heavily promoted by Nike. Nike Basketball followed up with a low-top version of the Kobe 9, but opted for an engineered mesh upper instead of Flyknit, changing up the shoe’s look.
For those still dreaming about a low-top version of the Flyknit model–your prayers have been answered with Nike’s latest HTM project. Offered in four colorways, the shoe features the same technology as its Engineered Mesh counterpart–internal Lunarlon cushioning, carbon fiber reinforcement, and Dynamic Flywire supports–but crafted in the original Flyknit material. Unfortunately, the shoe is slated for an Italy-only release (available at Nike Stadium Milano and Excelsior, Milan) in very limited quantities. Keep your fingers crossed for a wider release and let us know which colorway you’re feeling in the comments.
