Kyrie Irving has a special connection to the number 11. His father Drederick Irving wore #11 during his basketball career. Kyrie himself wore it in high school and does now with the Brooklyn Nets. “K” is the eleventh letter of the alphabet. “Kyrie Irving” is 11 letters. Irving played 11 games at Duke University. He was drafted into the NBA in 2011. He scored his 11,000th point on March 11th.

As a nod to Irving’s globetrotting curiosity and love for the number 11, the Nike KYRIE 6 will debut with a preheat collection made up of 11 colorways inspired by 11 cities around the world that have a special meaning to the Kyrie. Those cities include Beijing, Berlin, Guangzhou, Houston, Los Angeles, Manila, Miami, New York City, Shanghai, Taipei, and Tokyo.
