Nike LeBron 17 Space Jam Collection

Original Story (01/23/20): Nike is bringing back the 1996 classic Space Jam to life with the release of the LeBron-branded Space Jam basketball jerseys, as well as the Nike LeBron 17 in a “Monstars” colorway and a LeBron 17 Low in a “Tune Squad” colorway. The 17s are arriving as part of the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend festivities, while the release of the basketball uniforms will coincide with the premiere of the upcoming Space Jam sequel starring King James.

The Nike LeBron 17 features a purple Knitposite upper with galaxy-inspired hits of iridescence throughout. The tongues resemble the Monstars’ “Pound” and “Bupkus,” dressed in orange and purple with a number 0 embroidered atop the lacing system. Official Warner Bros and Space Jam branding can be found on the inside of the shoe.

The designs of the uniforms are similar to the ones in Space Jam, but now come decked in Nike and LeBron branding. Additional details include a cosmic print number 0 on the Monstars jersey and a “What’s Up Doc?” speech bubble on the Tune Squad jersey.

Take a closer look at the Nike LeBron 17 “Monstars” dropping on February 13th and the Nike LeBron Space Jam uniforms below.

Update (02/10/20): Earlier today, Nike did a surprise early drop on the LeBron 17 “Monstars” on the SNKRS app. To purchase, customers had to take a photo of the home page of the original 1996 Space Jam website, which is still online to this day. A wider release is still set for February 13th.

Update (02/05/20): Along with the uniforms and the LeBron 17 “Monstars” colorway, Nike will also be releasing a low top LeBron 17 is a “Tune Squad” colorway. Bugs Bunny is the inspiration for this one, with a furry faux-fur Swoosh and a white, red, and blue color palette to match the Tune Squad’s uniforms.
