Nike SB Dunk Low “Raygun” Returns with a Tie Dye Twist

One of the most beloved Dunks from the golden days of Nike SB is making an interesting comeback in 2019. The Nike SB Dunk Low “Raygun” first released in 2005. The design was inspired by a fictional ABA team, the Roswell Rayguns, that was the center of a number of Nike ads during the 2002 NBA Playoffs.

Nike SB are bringing back the Rayguns in memory of the late Sandy Bodecker. The veteran Nike employee and godfather of Nike SB was always seen wearing a tie dye Rayguns hoodie. Bodecker was instrumental in the launch of Nike’s skateboarding division, redesigning the Dunk in 2002. Nike SB would not be what it is today if it wasn’t for him.

Two colorways of the Rayguns are releasing, one in black and one in white, “Home” and “Away” versions just like initial release. Each shoe will have a unique tie dye design. Both are rumored to release on December 27th. The black version will include kids and TD sizes and will be available at skate shops and SNKRS, while the white version will be more limited and only releasing in shops. Get a first look at the 2019 Rayguns below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more info.

  1. a lot of re-sellers are blocking our way on coping these kicks. I hate the idea of re-sellers hoarding a lot just for their benefit. Where’s the justice on that?
