Having teased a collaboration with hit anime series One Piece this weekend, Puma has given us a first look at their collaborative efforts on the CELL Endura silhouette.
The shoe is based on the Straw Hat Pirates second boat in the series, Thousand Sunny. It features a black sock-like upper with a “Gum-Gum Fruit” pattern encapsulated by a black and red leather overlay. A brown midsole, brown rope laces, and a gold anchor attached to the heel add to the ship aesthetic. A green insole with One Piece and Puma co-branding represents the shrubbery found on the ship’s deck.
Many fans of the series have voiced their disapproval of the shoe for not resembling the boat enough. Take a look at the shoe below and let us know what you think in the comments. The One Piece x Puma CELL Endura “Thousand Sunny” releases on August 9th on Puma’s Japanese website, coinciding with the premiere of One Piece: Stampede.
Update (8/8/19): Get a closer look at the details and packaging of the One Piece x Puma CELL Endura in the photos below.
