After a grueling 6 game series against the Golden State Warriors, the Toronto Raptors have been crowned 2019 NBA Champions. This is the first time in the franchise’s history has won the championship. Kyle Lowry led the team to victory in Game 6 with 26 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds.
In his first season as a Toronto Raptor, Kawhi Leonard was awarded the NBA Finals MVP. He previously won the award with the San Antonio Spurs. Only two other players in the history of the NBA have been crowned Finals MVP with multiple teams: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and LeBron James.
Congratulations to the Raptors, the city of Toronto, and the entire country of Canada.
