Stone Island and Nike have come together to create a golf capsule just in time for the 2019 Open Championship taking place in Northern Ireland.
The capsule includes a jacket and crewneck combining Stone Island’s innovative fabrics with Nike’s performance-wear. Each piece was made to encompass the normal range of motion of a swing with weather-resistant textiles and adaptive fiber to control body temperature. The pieces also come equipped with various pockets for balls, gloves, and tees. The capsule comes in grey and blue with the crewneck also available in yellow.
The capsule will release July 18-21 at the Open at Royal Portrush with a global release starting on July 25.
Update (7/22/2019): Nike and Stone Island have unveiled additional details regarding their upcoming collab. The jacket in the collection is made of a 3-layer fabric called Raso-R 3L, which is composed of a cotton satin raso outer shell, a water-resistant and windproof membrane, and a nylon backing. The inside is lined with Nike’s Hyperadapt technology to help with ventilation.
The crewneck is constructed with a comfort tech composite material, consisting of two “super stretch and highly breathable” nylon layers alongside a polyester layer which allows for garment dyeing techniques.
