Black Sabbath© is an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1968 by Ozzy Osbourne, Tommy Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. The band is widely considered a pioneer of heavy metal. Singing of horror, occult and political corruption over tuned-down guitars, their music was a dark response to the upbeat music that dominated rock at the time. To this day, Black Sabbath© is a cultural symbol of the genre they helped create.
