Following a string of posthumous artistic releases this year comes another in the form of a collaboration between skate powerhouse Supreme and late artist Daniel Johnston.

Supreme and Daniel Johnston last collaborated for the SS15 season, a subtle yet graphically eye-catching series. Johnston, an American singer-songwriter and visual artist, battled with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but didn’t let that slow down his artistic capabilities as he and Supreme were longtime collaborators before he passed away in 2019.

This time around, we were given a closer look at a navy hoodie featuring original artwork in true Johnston fashion. The graphic is named “The Silver Sufferer” and depicts an abstract drawing of a character surfing through space singing an iconic line from the Beatles’ song With A Little Help From My Friends: “What do you think if I sang out of tune?/ Would you stand up and walk out on me?” On the side of the sleeve you can find “Supreme” etched out in Johnston’s handwriting.

Other Daniel Johnston items that were previewed in Supreme’s SS20 range include a plaid and rayon shirt. Check out the “The Silver Sufferer” below and look for all items to release this season.
