Tudor, for those not in the know, is under the Rolex umbrella and has made luxury/utility watches for over half of a century. Tudor’s latest offering sees them paying homage to one of their most infamous references, the “Big Crown” 7923.
Popular thanks to Sean Connery rocking its Rolex counterpart in “Gold Finger”, the “Big Crown” no crown protector iterations of these vintage Rolex and Tudor watches have become highly sought after, and highly priced. The watches have become almost impossible to attain, but Tudor took the edge off a couple of years ago by introducing the modernized Black Bay watch, which pays loose homage to the OG watches. This latest piece though, is special. Made for Only Watch 2015, this 1/1 7923/001 is a one off that turns the Black Bay into an even closer replica of its original form, down to the red bezel insert, pencil hands and dial text.
