The 7-Eleven x Nike SB Dunk Low Release Has Been Cancelled

1

Original Story (04/27/20): Let’s say you’re in the mood for some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. In that case, you might head over to your local 7-Eleven to pick up a pint. Well, just as unexpectedly as the “Chunky Dunky” Ben & Jerry’s Nike SB collab arised, so to does this 7-Eleven x Nike SB Dunk Low.

First look photos of a 7-Eleven x Nike SB Dunk Low show the shoe dressed in the same colors as the convenience store’s logo: orange, green, and red. The tri-colored upper is complemented by white accents on the tongue, heel, laces, and Swoosh. The lace tips feature red, green, and orange stripes, while a 7-Eleven logo appears on the heel. The upper sits atop a white midsole and gum-colored outsole.

In 2008, Nike SB released a “Big Gulp”-themed Dunk High inspired by 7-Eleven’s self-serve cups, though that Dunk was not an official 7-Eleven collaboration. Grab a first look at the upcoming 7-Eleven x Nike SB Dunk Low below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates on this release.

Update (05/15/20): Here’s a detailed look at the 7-Eleven x Nike SB Dunk Low, courtesy of Yankee Kicks. Multiple sources have now confirmed that these will not be releasing. Look for whatever pairs that are out there to pop up on StockX and eBay.

Update (05/14/20): It looks like the release of the 7-Eleven Nike SB Dunk Low has been cancelled, or at least that’s the word according to Complex. Pairs were supposed to release as a Japan-exclusive to commemorate the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, but with the postponement of the games, the release has been scrapped completely.

7-Eleven is a Japanese-owned brand and the country is home to more locations than any other in the world. With this year’s Olympic Games introducing competitive skateboarding to the global market, it made sense for Nike SB to make Dunks for the Japanese market.

Nike SB also has three other Dunks related to the Japanese market with releases still up in the air: one by Instant Skateboards, another by Medicom Toy, and the atmos-inspired “Elephant.” Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates as news develops.
