Japan will soon be celebrating Golden Week, a week-long period filled with a number of national holidays, culminating with Children’s Day on May 5th. To celebrate Children’s Day, A Bathing Ape has revealed a new collaboration with Sesame Street consisting of apparel for children, as well as a separate collection for adults to make it possible for families to sport matching outfits.

Sesame Street has received the love and attention of kids from over 160 countries since its debut in 1969. In honor of Children’s Day, the graphics in this collection feature traditional Japanese motifs such as “Koinobori” (carp streamers) and “Kabuto” (Japanese helmets). Never-before-seen designs of Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird make up the designs, with BABY MILO joining in on the fun as well. A rich lineup of color variations within the apparel pieces emphasizes the youthful and playful nature being celebrated on this holiday.

The Kids’ Sesame Street x BAPE Collection will be available first on April 29th via BAPE Kids Harajuku, BAPE Kids Yokohama Takashimaya and the BAPE.COM WEB STORE. The Men’s Collection will be available later on May 2nd via US.BAPE.COM, BAPE.COM, and select BAPE stores. Check out lookbook photos below and see whole collection here.
