Following the announcement of the AAPE BY *A BATHING APE® League of Legends collaboration earlier this month, the duo has officially announced the apparel collection and a Prestige Edition Skin for playable character True Damage Yuso.
Since its launch in 2009 by Riot Games, League of Legends quickly became the world’s most popular video and the leader in esports. Its cooperation with AAPE has combined the in-game character design concept with the aesthetics of streetwear.
The collection consists of two concepts. The first part is an apparel aspect that is inspired by the True Damage Yasuo Prestige Edition Skin. AAPE innovates the brand-new skin into real life in a simulated way. It consists of a gold base tone and black embroideries of the Prestige edition in the new collection featuring a wide range of apparel, footwear, and accessories. Some items consist of gold reflective materials.
The second part of the apparel collection takes inspiration from the DJ dress of Yasuo in the music video True Damage and blends the virtual band with modern street aesthetics. The apparel collection features graphics and motifs found in the music video.
The complete AAPE BY *A BATHING APE® X LEAGUE OF LEGENDS collection features unisex apparel, including an outerwear jacket, t-shirt, a pullover hoodie, a cargo pant, a pair of sneakers, and a hat. Additionally, an exclusive t-shirt of True Damage Yasuo Prestige Edition will be available globally on both the Riot Games’ merch website and as a part of the full collection. A True Damage Yasuo Prestige Edition skin will also be available to League of Legends players on September 25, 2020, taking inspiration from the collection.
