atmos Launches Its Own “atmos Blue” adidas Adimatic

1

Earlier this year, adidas brought back the Adimatic, a distinctive skate silhouette originally released in 1996 that has remained hidden away in the archive for decades. The return of the Adimatic has been celebrated by Japanese sneakerheads, who have been the most vocal about wanting a retro of the model. The green and black colorways released in Japan on March 26th and saw massive lines at local retailers. Even though it was Air Max Day, the Three Stripes reigned supreme that day.

With the silhouette’s cult-like following, the cult leader would have to be Hirofumi Kojima, aka Koji, the creative director of atmos Japan. Koji took several years to persuade adidas to reissue the Adimatic, and adidas finally answered his pleas. Some Japanese sneakerheads have even nicknamed the Adimatic reissue “Kojimatic” as a thank you to Koji for making the reissue happen.

atmos Japan has now launched its own Adimatic collab. The Adimatic “atmos Blue” features the atmos signature blue color scheme on a suede upper with white accents and gum outsole. Arguably the most notable feature of the silhouette is the zig-zag midsole and the thick adidas stripes with matching laces. Accompanying the release is a special tee designed by illustration trio sKetChboOok3. The tee features a bear-like character wearing the blue Adimatics and a co-branded hoodie with the hood covering its eyes.

The atmos x adidas Adimatic “atmos Blue” released today via atmos Japan and at atmos locations across Asia. Those outside of Asia looking to cop this pair can find them on sites like StockX, GOAT, and eBay. However, atmos USA will be releasing an adidas Adimatic this fall.
