adidas Skateboarding presents the latest colorway of the Aloha Super silhouette in collaboration with professional skateboarder, Mark “Gonz” Gonzales. This “Brainwash Victim” release draws inspiration from the Gonz feature in the September 1986 issue of Thrasher magazine.

The Aloha Super silhouette itself takes inspiration from the adiStar Fencing shoe, worn by Mark Gonzales during his 1998 performance piece in Ateiberg, Germany. The “Brainwash Victim” colorway pays tribute to Gonz’s notorious EMB gap ollie sequence published in Thrasher’s September 1986 issue (seen here), a career-defining moment caught on camera. adidas has adopted the same shade of white, seen on the handmade “Brainwash Victim” t-shirt Gonz is sporting, for the limited edition skate shoes’ Three Stripes. The rest of the upper is constructed with Halo Silver and Core Black accents made of premium suede, while the inside of the tongue comes in purple, matching the opening spread to Gonz’s Thrasher magazine interview. Graphic insoles and swirl embroidery on the left heel match the swirl used for the “O” in Gonzales in the magazine spread. The shoe comes with a dustbag that features the same 35-year-old handmade “Brainwash Victim” tee design.

The adidas Aloha Super “Brainwash Victim” is available now via adidas.com/skateboarding and select skate shops.
