adidas is once again teaming up with NIGO’s Human Made, this time on an all-new running silhouette and a collection of branded sport-inspired apparel.
The collection’s flagship item is the Human Made x adidas Tokio Solar, a modern Boost runner inspired by the groundbreaking adidas Tokio created specially for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. While the original Tokyo was revolutionary in its injection-molded components and interchangeable track spikes, NIGO’s modern reinterpretation includes multiple recent technological breakthroughs to create a shoe just as exciting. To design the Tokio Solar, NIGO took significant cues (like the T-shaped toebox paneling) from the adidas archive and mixed them with ultra-modern technologies, like Primeknit and Solar Boost tooling. The shoe is finished off by adidas and Human Made co-branding, as well as an embossed Human Made heart logo on the shoe’s exaggerated heel.
The collection’s accompanying apparel includes a long-sleeved striped tee, a pair of classic running shorts, a three-pack of Human Made tees, a co-branded jersey, and more. The initial drop of the collaboration is set to arrive on September 25th via adidas.com (adidas Confirmed app in the US), but more clothing and sneakers are expected to follow later this year (including a Velcro Stan Smith-style low top dubbed the UNOFCL).
