adidas and Donovan Mitchell Unveil the D.O.N. Issue #2

adidas and Utah Jazz forward Donovan Mitchell are set to release a follow-up to last year’s D.O.N. Issue #1, the player’s first-ever signature sneaker, in two different playful varieties.

Mitchell’s “Determination Over Negativity” motto (D.O.N.) and cheerful disposition are possibly more important now than ever before, and the two versions of the Issue #2 represent an upbeat reflection on some of the more fun and comforting aspects of one’s childhood. The first edition, a follow-up to the previous shoe’s ‘Spider-Man’-influenced colorway, represents the webslinger’s Spidey-Sense. The D.O.N. Issue #2’s jagged lockdown system works perfectly as a nod to the character’s comic book origins and flashes of superhuman intuition, but the lacing system spells out “SPIDEY SENSE!” to drive the point home. The upper is dressed in a glow-in-the-dark electric green colorway with tonal green and bright red accents, and the shoe features a slightly more subdued full-length Bounce cushioning system. To tie the model together, translucent outsoles spell out “BOOM” and “POW” as a fun final tribute to comics.

The other variety of the Issue #2 comes as a Crayola-branded set of three colorways that all appear in bold single color redresses. The colors include “Banana Mania,” “Sky Blue,” and “Jazzberry Jam” (bright yellow, bright blue, and bold red, respectively). The left tongue and both outsoles of each pair sport the Crayola logo, and lacing tabs carry the words “Free to create.”

The adidas D.O.N. Issue #2 “Spidey-Sense” drops via adidas.com and select retailers on August 28th for $100 USD, but you’ll have to wait until October 2nd for the Crayola Pack. Check out photos of all the models down below.
