Global sneaker boutique Sneakersnstuff is back with another installment of its adidas GT Hometown Love Series, paying tribute to all SNS locations worldwide, as well as the original Stockholm GT released back in 1980. After celebrating its locations in Venice, California, and the Meatpacking District of New York earlier this year, SNS now presents its new “Tokyo” colorway of the adidas GT.
The SNS GT “Tokyo” is dressed in a hairy purple suede upper and white stripes mirroring the colors of the Tokyo flag. Additional details include a tonal purple leather heel panel, gold foil side panel branding, and custom graphic insoles printed with a map of Tokyo.
For this collaboration, SNS links up with Tokyo-based fashion stylist and costume designer Keisuke Baba to highlight the community of casual football fans in the Japanese metropolis. In the campaign video, Baba recalls his time in the UK where football is a part of life and how Tokyo has adopted this subculture. In addition, illustrator Jun Inagawa brings his own UK influence and blends it with manga-style art for the campaign imagery.
