Good things come to those that wait!
Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) and adidas Originals are set to officially debut the comedian-turned-rapper-turned-TV-star’s first signature shoe next week! Man, adidas been killing it in the roster department: Kanye, Pusha and Pharrell been on-lock, Gambino been on the back burner since last year and Beyonce signed last month – sheesh.
Here’s what we can expect in coming weeks surrounding the shoes:
- An official release event will be held on April 17th with community (youth, local creatives and Childish Gambino fans in L.A.
- April 18th an original series of short films starting Gambino and Mo’Nique will release via YouTube.
- April 26th global release of kicks (allegedly).
Inspiration comes from three classic adidas styles: the Nizza, the Continental 80s and the Lacombe – that’s why these Gambino joints look familiar yet new at the same time.
