adidas Originals is teaming up with Wales Bonner, the eponymous British fashion house led by Grace Wales Bonner, to drop a Spring/Summer 2021 collection celebrating the British-Jamaican community and early eighties Jamaican dancehall culture.
Featuring a wide range of apparel including tracksuits, shorts, tees, and more, the “Essence” collection uses soft and eye-catching colors to evoke a romanticized vision of casual British fashion in the 70s. Notable pieces include colorful adidas jersey tees with ribbed collars, a knit-style tee, and checked pants that toe the line between formality and leisure.
The collection will also include two footwear models. The duo has revisited the Samba, adding a satin lining, crochet laces, and cream white tongue, offered in two colorways: Black/Green and Navy/Yellow. The adidas Nizza Lo is also set to get a Wales Bonner refresh, coming in three colorways: Cream White/Scarlet, Night Indigo/Green, and Purple/Yellow.
The Wales Bonner adidas SS21 collection will release on March 26th via adidas’ website and Confirmed app, the Wales Bonner webstore, as well as select retailers. The collection is fresh off the heels of the duo’s Fall/Winter 2020 “Lovers Rock” drop, which featured a reworked adidas Samba and SL72. You can check out photos of the upcoming release below.
