The Hyper-Futuristic adidas X9000L4 Launches Next Week

Original Story (06/04/20): Images of a brand new adidas silhouette known as the X9000L4 BOOST have begun to crop up online. While it’s unknown when the pair will release, the shoe appears to be a significant step forward in adidas’ continued commitment to pushing the limits of their materials—including their flagship BOOST foam.

The shoe appears to feature a one-piece knit upper (similar to the Ultra BOOST) with an exaggerated heel, a multifaceted heel clip in the back, and printed overlays beneath a sleek rendition of the Three Stripes. Most notable, however, is the model’s thick, intricate midsole; it appears to use a sculpted, almost paneled form of BOOST foam. Parts of the midsole appear to use an iridescent coloring similar to what was seen on the ISS Ultraboost 20; however, even a shoe that futuristic only utilized one color/pattern throughout the model. Finally, the silhouette is rounded out by a multicolor rubber outsole and colored lace loops permeating the upper’s overlays.

While the black colorway seems to be the most well-documented thus far, images of a white colorway have also popped up. Pricing is rumored at $150—well below many of adidas’ other flagship BOOST models—but all other release information remains yet to be seen.
