As more Fall/Winter 2021 collections take shape, adidas is unveiling an outdoor-inspired capsule of its own that combines design cues from Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 with the heavy-duty stylings of adidas Terrex.
The collection features two outerwear pieces and two colorways of the new Y-3 TERREX SWIFT R3 GTX sneaker. Y-3’s head designer Yohji Yamamoto infuses his avante-garde aesthetic into the technical pieces, bringing together the best of both worlds: style and functionality. A Y-3 Rugged GTX Jacket and Y-3 Melton GTX Down Parka comprise the apparel, taking on materials such as 100% recycled nylon plain weave, GORE-TEX, wool, nylon and a 90% goose down for the parka. A Y-3, Terrex and GORE-TEX silicone badge serves for branding. To finish off, the side pockets unzip to reveal a pocket bag that attaches to webbing tape.
The Y-3 TERREX SWIFT R3 GTX opts for a sneaker-boot construction. It’s available in Vintage White/Y-3 Black/Bold Orange and Y-3 Black/Bold Orange colorways. GORE-TEX fills out the lining while a Continental rubber outsole and inner neoprene gusset provide a base and protection from the elements. The lace and zipper system is multi-purpose as well, depending on the need. The show is waterproof and traction-heavy, showcasing a design that’s fit for the adventurer.
The adidas Y-3 TERREX SWIFT R3 GTX shoe will release on October 14th. Find it on adidas.com/y_3, the CONFIRMED app, in-store and select retailers. The apparel will see a mid-November release through the aforementioned outlets.
