The YZY QNTM, Kanye West’s basketball silhouette with adidas, debuted in grand fashion during NBA All-Star Weekend. West had his Sherpa trucks roaming the streets of Chicago, handing out free pairs of the sneaker to lucky fans that were able to chase one down. A few stores in Chicago also sold the shoe, but stock was quite limited. The shoe is now set to receive a much wider release.
This restock will be on the QNTM lifestyle version of the sneaker, not to be confused with the BSKTBL version, which is the performance model. Both are similar in appearance, though the BSKTBL version is more fit for on-court play with its sturdy TPU cage. The QNTM does not have this layer, opting for solely primeknit, though it does have reflective detailing that the BSKTBL version does not. To make things slightly more confusing, this debut colorway is also called “Quantum,” so exists a QNTM “Quantum” and BSKTBL “Quantum.”
The adidas YZY QNTM “Quantum” global release goes down this Saturday, September 5th via adidas.com/yeezy and yeezysupply.com. The adidas US release is handled via an in-app draw on CONFIRMED. Adult sizes retail for $250 USD, while kids is $180 and infants $160.
