adidas Revives its A-ZX Series Starting with the ZX 1000C

adidas has announced a retro of one of their incredibly popular ZX runners from the ’80s, the ZX 1000C, as part of a revival of the brand’s “A-ZX” series.

Originally executed in 2008/2009, the franchise featured various collaborators putting forth their take on 26 different models from the Three Stripes’ ZX line. 2020’s A-ZX series seems to be a revival of the same concept, with the brand putting forth a teaser video showing a mock “periodic table” of ZX models. The first of these shoes, a retro of one of the original ZX 1000C colorways, is set to release soon.

The model features a gorgeous vintage-looking colorway of the heritage performance runner. The upper is primarily made up of supple grey leather and hits of ocean blue on the mesh toe box and Three Stripes. The shoe also features a slick black midfoot mudguard, a bright green deubre, and a yellowed midsole featuring Torsion technology. The colorway is rounded out by an insole describing the model’s heel cushioning tech and a black and blue outsole.

You can cop the adidas ZX 1000C “RETRO” starting on August 7th via adidas.com. Check out the release below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for info on the other 25 upcoming releases in the adidas A-ZX series.
