Following a sneak peek last week, AFEW officially reveals its next ASICS project, the 1-of-1 GEL-LYTE III “Beauty of Imperfection.”
Centered around the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, this GEL-LYTE III comes dressed in natural tones such as beige, brown, and grey. The upper features a tear-away design to tie in with the “Beauty of Imperfection” theme. The shoe comes in a size 9 and is packaged in a bespoke Japanese tea table created by interior designer Martin Heck. This “special box” is made of locally and sustainably sourced oak, treated with the “Shou Sugi Ban” preservation method, and finished off with a brass plate on top.
A charity raffle will be held for a chance to win this special 1-of-1 shoe and box. Entry costs €5, with all proceeds to be donated to the children’s hospice Regenbogenland (Rainbow Land) in Düsseldorf, Germany. The winner will be announced during an Instagram Live event hosted by AFEW, where they will also preview other upcoming ASICS’ collabs.
