Aimé Leon Dore has launched a new documentary short film tilted “The Past Goes Fast” starring Robert De Niro.

In the film, De Niro shares a look inside his father’s studio in Soho, New York, a space that has remained mostly untouched since the passing of Robert De Niro Sr. almost thirty years ago. The Oscar award winner discusses his complex relationship with his father in conversation with French artist JR, who directed the doc short. Topics covered include De Niro Sr.’s struggles as an abstract expressionist painter trying to make ends meets, De Niro Sr.’s sexuality, and De Niro Jr.’s own experience as a father.
