It’s happening, Air Jordan 1 “Banned” now has an official release date. What originally released as an outlet drop back in 2011, will be getting a general release come September 2016.

The Air Jordan 1 “Banned” highlights the moment when Michael Jordan was banned from wearing the Air Jordan 1 back in 1985. The National Basketball Association fined MJ $5000 for wearing the Air Jordan 1, but Nike paid the fines resulting in one of the biggest sneaker marketing tactics. The Air Jordan 1 is said to feature a remastered quality similar to the original “Banned” Air Jordan 1 from 2011, as well as the Nike Air on the tongue.
