Original Story (06/19/20): In 2003, Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 1 “Patent Pack,” a trio of Mid-cut patent leather AJ1s in “Chicago,” “UNC,” and “Black/Gold” colorways. This was the first time that Jordan Brand added patent leather to the classic silhouette. Ten years later, the “Black/Gold” color scheme returned on the 2013 Air Jordan 1 Black Metallic Gold.
Another version of the Air Jordan 1 Black Metallic Gold is now set to release in 2020. First look images show a black patent leather upper with Gold reserved for the Swoosh, ankle collar, and the Nike Air branding on the tongue tab. Below the upper is a completely black sole unit, same as the 2003 release.
