Original Story (05/01/21): The Air Jordan 1 has surfaced in a “Prototype” colorway that is expected to release later this year.

This Air Jordan 1 features a white leather upper with suede overlays in beige on the forefoot. A sky blue overlay and darker blue padding are found on the ankle. Its black leather Swoosh with contrasting white stitching matches the overlay on the heel, while orange accents are found in the form of an embroidered mini Swoosh at the top of the toe box and on the “Nike Air” tongue label. There is also reflective detailing around the rear and a perforated dashed line around the collar, encouraging wearers to cut the blue part off and wear the shoe as a Low.

Grab a first look at the Air Jordan 1 High “Prototype” below. Expect this colorway to release via SNKRS and select retailers on September 24th for a retail price of $170. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates on this release.

Update (06/18/21): Jordan Brand officially unveiled this AJ1 High (dubbed “Prototype”) yesterday as part of its Fall 2021 Retro Lineup. In the description, it notes that the perforation on the collar is there so that wearer’s can customize them into lows if they wish to do so. When the collars are cut off, orange foam padding becomes exposed to add additional orange hits to the shoe. See what the shoe looks like with the collars cut off below. Photos via teddyssole/IG:

Update (05/07/21): Additional images of this Air Jordan 1 High OG Pro reveal reflective hits on the toe box and around the heel. This design cue, the contrast stitching, and the color scheme draw similarities to last year’s Instant Skateboards x Nike SB Dunk Low. Whether the two releases are related is yet to be confirmed.
