Official Look at the 2022 Air Jordan 12 “Playoff” Retro

1

Original Story (06/07/21): Originally released in 1997, the Air Jordan 12 will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2022. To mark the occasion, Jordan Brand will be bringing back the “Playoff” colorway of the AJ12.

Last seen in 2012 for its 15th anniversary, the Air Jordan 12 “Playoff” gets its nickname due to Michael Jordan wearing the pair in the ’97-’98 NBA postseason, where the Chicago Bulls ultimately defeated the Utah Jazz in the Finals. The 25th anniversary version is expected to stay true to the OG release, with construction consisting of black leather uppers and a textured white leather mudguard. Red branding on the heel and tongue give the shoe a Bulls-themed color scheme.

The Air Jordan 12 “Playoff” is slated to release sometime in Spring 2022 via SNKRS and select retailers. Check out the 2012 version below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more details on the 25th anniversary release.

These come with details that are true to the OG, including the black Jumpman on the toe and the white lettering on the heel tab, which is unlike the 2012 release that featured a red Jumpman on the toe and red lettering on the heel. The black leather on the 2022 version is also looking pretty good. Check out photos below, courtesy of GOAT:
