Detailed Look at the Air Jordan 5 “Alternate Bel-Air”

Original Story (04/16/20): Will Smith’s style in the late ’90s was iconic. His character on the hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was often seen wearing wild prints in vibrant colors paired with some heat on feet. Smith’s silhouette of choice was the Air Jordan 5, which he wore in both the “Black Metallic” and “Fire Red” colorways in the pilot episode. In later episodes, the Fresh Prince can be found rocking the “Grape” Air Jordan 5 sans laces, which inspired the release of the laceless Air Jordan 5 “Fresh Prince” in 2018.

The first Fresh Prince-inspired AJ5 though released in 2013, the Air Jordan 5 “Bel-Air.” It featured a cool grey upper with mismatched fluorescent detailing on each shoe paying homage to the vibrant ’90s style. A new “Alternate” colorway of that Air Jordan 5 has surfaced, this time equipped with a white upper. Like the 2013 release, this Alternate colorway features neon green and pink Jumpmans on the heels, 90’s print sockliners, and a purple midsole atop an icy outsole.

The Air Jordan 5 “Alternate Bel-Air” is scheduled to release this August for a retail price of $200 USD. Grab a first look below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates on this release.
