Original Story (09/15/22): After dropping a “UNC” Jordan 4 in 2021 and the “UNC” Jordan 6 in 2022, Jordan Brand is now delivering a “UNC” colorway of the Air Jordan 5 in 2023.
This Jordan 5 comes equipped with a University Blue leather upper with matching nubuck overlays, nodding to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina. The tongues come in reflective silver, typical of the AJ5, while on the heels is a stitched on patch that is commonly found on recent collegiate-inspired retro Jordans (such as the “Oregon” 5s). Rounding out the design is hidden “Heart.” and “Soul.” wording on the tongues, a black midsole with the “shark teeth” dressed in white with blue speckles, plus an icy translucent outsole.
