Amazon Studios is Making a ‘Fallout’ Live-Action Series

Amazon Studios has licensed the rights to the worldwide best-selling game franchise Fallout with a commitment to create a live-action series adaptation.

Acclaimed producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy of Kilter Films are set to produce the project, the same producer’s behind HBO’s Westworld. Here’s what Nolan and Joy have to say about the project:

“Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time. Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”

For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Fallout is set in an American wasteland, leaving survivors to fend for themselves after the nuclear war of 2077. Fallout games have achieved record-setting sales and received hundreds of awards, including dozens of Game of the Year awards, while the mobile game, Fallout Shelter, has been downloaded more than 170 million times.

The Fallout live-action series is currently in development with no release date as of yet. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates as they develop.
