Vans welcomes three-time Grammy award-winning artist, musician and producer Anderson .Paak as the brand’s first Global Music Ambassador. Vans and AP share a mutual passion to promote creative expression through their active support and music. AP is a longtime fan of Vans and worked at a retail store in California and has since gone on to perform live on House of Vans stage & the brand’s Sidestripe Sessions.
The upcoming partnership features an exclusive footwear and accessories collection inspired by AP’s Southern California roots and his critically acclaimed breakthrough albums Venice and Malibu. The footwear includes the Old Skool DX and the Sid DX along with accompanying bucket hats.
The Old Skool DX is inspired by the debut album Venice which consists of a wavy, psychedelic upper blended with 3D printing for texture. The model is rounded off by bold yellow eyelets along with a blue vinyl Sidestripe and all sitting atop a white midsole with a green outsole.
The Sid DX is a nod to AP’s 2016 album Malibu and is dressed in embroidered chenille uppers complimented by black laces, stitching, and features a green embroidered Flying-V logo and is rounded off with green outsoles. Each model comes with custom packaging and a dust bag matching the collection.
Along with the footwear, the duo will be releasing bucket hats that match the respective shoe. Each hat has silicon patches and different quotes affixed to the brim of each hat.
