How Atlanta rapper André 3000 spends his free time nowadays is a mystery. Three Stacks is best known for being a member of the legendary Outkast, but the duo has been on hiatus since 2007, reuniting briefly for a string of festival performances in 2014. He occasionally makes appearances on other people’s songs as a featured artist, gifting them and his fans with a fire verse, most recently on Anderson .Paak’s “Come Home”.
Earlier today, the elusive André Benjamin was spotted casually playing some sort of wooden flute at LAX Airport. He was spotted by Antonia Cereijido, a radio producer for NPR’s Latino USA. According to Antonia, André was playing the instrument for about 40 minutes and he was “AMAZING at the flute”. This should come as no surprise—André 3000 dropped two tracks in 2018 on Mother’s Day, both featuring Benjamin on bass clarinet and James Blake on piano.
I saw a man walking around my terminal playing a flute for 40min and was losing my mind because I thought it was André 3000. And then it WAS André 3000!!! ???????????????????? pic.twitter.com/tqQ4C8HBh1
