Original Story (02/17/21): After teaming up with New Balance on a “Pigeon & Crow” X-Racer, Staple and atmos reunite to bring the concept to another footwear brand, PUMA.
Featuring similar design cues to the infamous Staple x Nike SB Dunk Low “NYC Pigeon,” this PUMA Suede gets dressed in light grey suede with darker grey dressing the eyelet overlays and laces, mimicking the color scheme of an actual pigeon. On the lateral side, we see a brown leather formstrip and a pigeon graphic embroidered near the heel, a tribute to Staple’s hometown of NYC. The medial, on the other hand, pays homage to atmos’ home country of Japan with black crow graphic embroidery and a black suede formstrip with shimmering green accents. The theme is continued with a pink leather sockliner, matching the color of pigeons’ feet, and hairy black suede on the heel panel. Staple branding appears on the tongue, while atmos branding is found on the lace aglets.
