New Balance Tokyo Design Studio has been pushing the limits of conventional design with its recent releases. After working with Snow Peak to present an R_C4 and Niobium capsule, New Balance TDS now reconnects with AURALEE for their second R_C2 collaboration, following up their 2019 collab with two tonal colorways of the model.
GORE-TEX lining and a slip-resistant outsole stay tried and true, though an updated color palette comes into the picture. One iteration is splashed with lavender pastels while the other comes in a darker, earthy scheme. Inspirations from the Tokyo-based brand’s Spring/Summer 2021 season are reflected in the shoes, making them a match for the rest of the collection. Looking forward to next season, AURALEE recently previewed a beige New Balance 550 during its FW21 runway show.
The SS21 New Balance TDS x AURALEE R_C2 will be available in Japan on March 19th via AURALEE’s website, the Japanese New Balance web store, New Balance Roppongi, and the New Balance T-HOUSE. Those outside of Japan can look for a release via SSENSE.
