In a conjunction of East and West Coast forces, AwakeNY and BornxRaised are teaming up for an apparel collection, released on a Carhartt WIP canvas. The collaboration will feature t-shirts, hoodies, chore coats, work pants and more, all featuring colorful co-branding and cartoon graphics.
Drawing influence from New York and Los Angeles culture, the pieces are part of a bigger puzzle that strives to materialize creative energy abundantly found within each city. The BxR beloved font branding can be found on just about everything with Awake’s swirling script joining in on the fun. You can find Mickey Mouse, cherubs and other graphics as design centerpieces. On the Carhartt work end, classic favorites, such as the chore coat, prove durability and style can go hand in hand.
Awake NY founder Angelo Basque confirmed that “100% of the proceeds from the co-branded Carhartt WIP Pocket T will be split, donated to New York’s New Immigrant Community Empowerment (NICE) nonprofit and Los Angeles’ NELA United for Students.” Spanto of BxR reiterates that the charitable efforts extend beyond monetary value, as they continue to “help young people get out from under the weight of economic and societal issues beyond their control.”
