Following a leak of the adidas x Balenciaga Triple S, the Three Stripes and Balenciaga officially announce their new partnership, with collaborative pieces available now.
The collaboration was unveiled today during the Balenciaga Spring 23 Collection NYC show held at the New York Stock Exchange. This event marked the first American Balenciaga show in twenty years. The models walked the floor of the stock exchange with latex masks and a bondage suit under their suit. As Demna, creative director of Balenciaga, explains, the show is a visual representation of the fetishization of fashion and money.
“For me, clothing is an object of fetish,” said Demna, creative director of Balenciaga, backstage at the event. “This is why I do it. There was a link between fetish and also money being the biggest fetish in the world. That’s why we’re here today.”
Pieces from the Balenciaga x adidas Originals collection that were showcased at the event were made made available to the public shortly following the presentation. Inspired by the late ’90s and early 2000s, the collection includes tracksuits, oversized tees and hoodies, baggy denim pants, soccer jerseys, and more. On the footwear side, the adidas Triple S is offered in white and blue colorways, accompanied by the adidas x Balenciaga Speed Sneaker in a black colorway.
